Link puchase to budget

Is there any way to link a purchase to a particular budget item?  For instance, if someone purchases a water pump, CalemEAM should deduct the pump from "Year 2008 Budget" -> "HVAC Budget"?

This function is not available in CalemEAM. There's a cost code associated with each item in purchase. So we could track budget by cost code. Would this work for you? Do you have a cost code defined for HVAC?

This sounds like a good feature candidate for budget module. We have added a Mantis entry to track it:
