KPIs to Monitor Inventory Physical Count Processes

New KPIs are introduced in release R2025c (April 2025) to measure the progress of physical count processes. It is the 3rd installment of physical count management. The first two installments cover the partition of storerooms into areas for counting in this blog, and the use of PMs and work orders to systematically count inventory in this blog.

The new KPIs measure the completion status of physical count work orders, and inventory count coverage by month.

  • WO Counted (%) shows how much physical count work orders are completed by month.
    • The "Time needed" field of work orders are used to include those physical count work orders in a month.
    • Each work order has a "Physical count start" time. An area is deemed as completed if it is counted after the start time.
    • Each stock entry needs to be counted.
    • For inventory not in stock, the site inventory's last counted time is used.
  • Monthly counted (%) shows how much inventory are counted in each month.
    • A stock entry is deemed as counted in a month if its last counted time is within a month.
    • The same goes for an inventory with no stock.
  • The YTD Counted (%) is the accumulation of counted from January to a month. For example, 10% of inventory is counted in January, and 9% is counted in February, the YTD for February is 19%.
  • The "List" menu shows a list of data presented in a chart.
  • The list data includes the total inventory to count, and the inventory counted.
  • Drilling down from a list row into rows of work orders and inventory is not supported at this time.
  •  Multi-site drilldown is baked into the KPIs so one can compare the KPIs for selective sites side by side. For example, the KPIs of my site and OH site are shown side by side.
